How it works

From "I want to go there" to booked

VoyageVixen matches people who want to visit the same places. Here's exactly what happens, and what's expected of everyone involved.

The process

Four steps, in order

  1. Create your profile

Sign up free, add a few photos and verify them. Tell us the destinations you're interested in and how you like to travel. It takes a couple of minutes, and you can look around before you talk to anyone.

  2. Find people going your way

Search by destination, dates and travel style. Send a message, or post a trip you're planning and let people ask to join it.

  3. Talk it through properly

Take your time. Work out whether your budgets, pace and sleeping arrangements line up. A video call before you commit is normal here, not awkward.

  4. Agree the plan, then book

Write down the dates, the accommodation, the room arrangement and who pays for what. Then book. If the plan changes, agree the change before money moves.

How costs work

Trips cost money, and pretending otherwise is how people end up in bad situations. So we ask members to settle it early and write it down.

  • Split everything down the middle, or split it by what each person can afford — both are normal.
  • Agree it before anyone books anything.
  • Separate rooms or separate beds is always a valid request, and it must be honoured.
  • If the arrangement changes it gets re-agreed. Nobody is on the hook for a plan they didn't accept.

What is never allowed

Nobody may offer or request payment, an allowance or a gift in exchange for companionship, intimacy or a person's presence on a trip. Escorting, pay-per-meet arrangements and sex work are prohibited outright, and accounts involved in them are removed.

Expectations

What you're signing up for — and what you aren't

Plenty of members become close friends and some end up in relationships. That's genuinely up to them. What matters is that nothing is assumed.

A travel companion

Someone to share the trip, the planning and the cost with. That's the whole premise of the site.

An honest conversation first

Ask the direct questions before you book — budget, rooms, pace, what you each want out of the trip. Nobody here minds being asked.

Not an expectation of intimacy

Travelling together creates no obligation of any kind. Anyone who treats it that way is reported and removed.

Staying safe

Before you get on a plane

  • Verify your own photos, and look for verification on other profiles.
  • Keep the conversation on VoyageVixen until you're comfortable.
  • Video call before you agree to travel together.
  • Tell someone at home your itinerary and who you're travelling with.
  • Book your own flights and keep control of your own documents and money.
  • Never send money, card details or account numbers to another member.
  • Have a plan and a budget for getting yourself home alone.
  • Report anything that feels off — we'd much rather hear about it early.
